Business

School has absolutely consumed my life. Many may say wow, it consumed mine years ago, however...yes, I am that slacker. I took like three years off, but really, somehow passed those classes...and did not even do so bad. At any rate, it is election time still...i love this time of year.  Many say, come on...it is so boring, ah but this is when i thrive.  I guess that is probably because I aspire to one day maybe be part of this real and amazing election process...oh wait, I already am...but, what i really mean to say is that maybe I will be on the other side (no not for president...are you kidding, I am not crazy!) running for office. It is a strange feeling to be called by God into this seemingly forsaken world of politics. I have been realizing more and more lately, that a calling is special, no matter what it is.  It seems as though sometimes we forget this, or that we really do not have a good grasp on it. Maybe we will never have a good grasp on it. It is weird, my big thing is injustice, and maybe more specifically social injustice, and again even to a more specific point, social injustice as it pertains to children. A child's life is so precious and innocent, and so many times it is used for absolute filth and evil. I have felt a strong call in this area, but for a long time have had no idea how to deal with it. I mean I have always loved politics, and always been quite interested, but I never quite figured that God would ever call someone into Politics. In the church, we almost treat american politics like the ultimate evil.  I was brought up thinking that politicians were evil, and to be sure, many are in fact corrupt and to be sure, there is a lot of underhanded stuff that goes on, but maybe that is where we make a difference.  I dont know, just a thought.

On a different but sort of related topic, I am hopefully going to get to be an election judge on super tuesday here in Illinois, which is quite exciting. I am pretty stoked about this, plus it pays well, and will hopefully give me a chance to meet some influential people in this area. I guess point of this is, make sure you go out and vote. Primaries are in fact important. Your vote does make a difference.

uh-oh

Is it time for the liberals to tuck their tails and hide...maybe...maybe not...either way, there is good news in Iraq. Hillary's greatest fear may actually have come true, the troops are doing better in Iraq, the surge is actually working. I for one am not shocked. So what now is the next move for the liberals, they all told us that the surge wouldnt work. Now, we are just waiting on the good Generals report to prove what we see to be true. It is obviously working tho, so clearly that Patraeus is now calling for troop cuts...not because its time to cut and run, but because the surge is working so well. WOW! What do Hillary, and O'bahma do now? Do they continue bashing our troops in Iraq, or do they finally admit that they were wrong...who knows? They are about as unpredictable as can be. Should be interesting to see what happens after Petraeus's report comes out. Well, that is all for now!

Provocation?

As America, we are the most powerful and technilogically advanced country in the world. With that being said, when a country is in need, we are looked upon to bring aid. When a country is having problems with terror, or druglords, we are looked upon to bring in help. When we give that help people say we should not be there. Now to be sure I am not talking about the war in Iraq, or anything like that. I am speaking more in past tense at this point. The example that really comes to mind about this is Somalia. Drug warlords the largest and most dangerous of which was Muhammed Farah Aidid (I am not certain on the spelling) were giving young children drugs and weapons and having them terrorize people, they were taking the UN sanctioned food and basically giving it to who would help them the most. The country of Somalia, which already is an extremely poor country and was hard up for food anyway, was going through an extremely severe drought at the time. The people were starving and would do just about anything for food. We, the US, sent help. My question is, should we do this? Should we send help around the world? Another question that is to be asked, Should we preemptively strike, or should we sit back and wait for attacks? I do, suprisingliy enough have an opinion on the subject, but I am wondering what all you wonderful people out there think.

war?

The song says "War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing."

hm...lets ponder upon that shall we. Is war really good for nothing, or should we take the context of when it was written and try to understand what was really going on. Also, is war really good for anything or not. Yesterday someone left me a comment stating that America has not won a war since WWII. Well, the US was in fact on the winning side in WWII, however, there were no real winners coming out of WWII, only people who defeated one of the ugliest regimes in history. Europe as well as parts of Asia and Africa were completely destroyed, oh as well as much of the pacific ocean. With that being said my point is this, War is necessary when evil is abounding. During WWII Evil was abounding in Europe, there was Genocide, and completely unwarrented attacks from Germany on other countries, just because the Axis Powers wanted world domination. That is in fact evil. War was warrented.

Moving on, First i would say that the comment that the US has not "won" a war since WWII is not completely true, and is a pretty skewed vision. Korea was not lost. We went in achieving the purpose which was to keep South Korea free and democratic, We accomplished it. Whether or not there were certain necessary evils that were there for us to go in and actually take care of...well...maybe, maybe not, however just for arguements sake i bring up Korea. Moving on.

Vietnam, completely avoidable. Was a tragedy. First let me say this, the most prevalent reason on why we lost Vietnam was the Media. The Media spun the vietnam war in such a way that they made it seem as if things were going horribly wrong and it was completely ugly etc. The most prevalent example of such a thing would be the Tet Offensive which the Media made seem like a huge loss for the Americans when in reality after the initial shock was absorbed, we faught back and readily smashed the uprising. The other main reason we lost that war was because we were fighting with two hands behind our backs. A war is impossible if you are not offensive. Sitting back and waiting for the enemy to attack will get you killed. Let me also be quick to point this out, Vietnam was not, and still is technically considered a war. It was a conflict. I think that is kind of BS like...but...that is what it is. Let me also say this...ask a vietnam vet, if it was a war, or a conflict...I am willing to bet a million bucks he will tell you it was a war.

Desert Storm...not really considered a war, but cannot be considered anything less that a success. The US went in and readily dispursed Iraq out of Kuwait. Game, Set, Match.

War in Afghanistan, was definately a successful operation, no, we have not yet caught Osama, however, we have frozen his assets, as well as taken out many of his camps. We have at least slown him down from operating another terrorist attack.

War in Iraq...the arguement against me here is that the US went in for the wrong reasons, that Bush is a war mongerer, who knows. I would just like to point out for probably the hundereth reason. EVERYONE wanted to go into Iraq at the time of the war. Everyone thought there were weapons of mass destruction. The cause was in fact noble. The notion that Bush and his buddies were all about oil is simply liberal propaganda and absolutely not true. I am sure that the thought of the oil was definately a side benifit, however, is not the reason America is in Iraq. We have not lost this war in Iraq, though if your a liberal, you apparently are ready to give the "win" to the enemy (terrorists). I am not looking to argue right or wrong on the war in Iraq, at this point, right or wrong really does not matter, we are still there. We need to finish the Job in Iraq, and withdrawing troops and money is NOT the way to do that. It simply will not work. Withdrawing the troops and money at this point in time will only empower the terrorists, and make it harder for a fawning nation to remain. If we pull out right now we will do nothing more than give the terrorists another safe haven and another place to operate out of and all the deaths of our wonderful soldiers will have gone for naught. Lets not lest their death be a waste.

America is still THE great power in the world today. We will remain, we will survive, that is why America is great, and that is why I LOVE MY COUNTRY!

-------edit-------

Let me also say this about Iraq, aside from the weapons of mass destruction that we all thought were there, and aside from the connections with terrorists, we ousted a regime that was absolutely horrible. Saddam was all about killing people in Iraq as is evident from the mass graves we found. Saddam is simply the poor mans Hitler here people. We have done some good things in Iraq, not all of it has been good...but yes there has still been some good to come out of there.

OH and...

One of if not THE most open Presidential race in history...I LOVE IT!
